Assess and understand areas of your life for balance and harmony
What is the Life Wheel?
This tool helps consider areas of your life and assess what’s off balance, identifying areas that need more/less attention. The visual representation allows you to bring things back into balance.
How to use the Life Wheel
Brainstorm life areas that are important to you and document on the wheel; one on each spoke
From 0-10, what amount of attention are you devoting to that area? Place a dot by the number
Connect the dots around the circle – does your life wheel look and feel balanced?
Ideal balance does not mean getting 5 in each life area: some areas need more attention/focus than others.
Now you have a visual, where are the gaps? These areas need attention. You may be putting in more effort than you’d like in areas; these are zapping energy that may better be directed elsewhere.
Look at each section individually, identify what a 10 looks like in that area. Then determine what steps you can take now to get there. It’s OK if an area is a 3 and you’re taking steps to get to a 5. The goal is to eventually get to a 10. Plan the actions needed to work on regaining balance. In neglected areas, what will you start doing to regain balance? In the areas that zap energy and time, what can you stop doing or delegate?
